Focus on active and participatory methods of learning.

Just now working in Tanzania on teacher development and School Readiness. Particularly excited as we have trained 3000 Community Teaching Assistants who are now preparing children who have had no access to education to enter standard 1 (though we are receiving children as old as 11 years old! ) Very exciting and enriching.

Initial assessments indicate that children are better prepared to survive and progress at standard 1 in just 16 weeks than those children who have had one year or more in a pre-primary class. We have got something right! More than 300,000 children have benefitted who would not have had access to education as they live too far away from the nearest school.

  1. Hello,
On behalf of the Manitoba School Library Association I would like to ask your permission to use the following image on our banner for our upcoming conference. https://rayharris57.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/human-rights-day.jpg

Our conference on October 22, 2010 will have the theme ‘The School Library: a Centre for Human Rights”. Our committee feels your image would be quite perfect for our banner. We expect to have between 100 and 150 in attendance and will have a representative from the new Canadian Museum for Human Rights speaking as well. Please see our program at http://www.manitobaschoollibraries.com/documents/SAG2010Programx.pdf
As we are a non-profit association, we ask that you grant us permission to use your image gratis. Please let me know of your decision as soon as possible.
Thank you for the excellent work you do.
    Sherry Faller
    Manitoba School Library Association
